Craig Ranch McKinney: Things to Do This Fall 2026

October 8, 2026

On Friday, Oct. 2, two free concerts start at 7:30 p.m. at two different venues on the Craig Ranch side of SH 121. Windy City plays the lawn at Hub 121. Over at District 121 on Alma Road, 80s Mix Tape headlines First Friday Market & Music. Two weeks later the same thing happens again.

For years the Craig Ranch side of SH 121 has been the place for errands, workouts and offices. The fall 2026 calendar shows a different pattern. Live music is booked most Friday nights in October. A ticketed festival takes up a Saturday afternoon. In November a hotel opens with a fifth-floor restaurant that has dinner-only hours and its own entrance for diners who aren't staying there. Most of the new arrivals are built for evenings.

October Fridays, Side by Side

Hub 121 and District 121 each run their own free music series. Their October dates overlap more often than not.

Date Hub 121, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. District 121, 6731 Alma Road
Fri., Oct. 2 Windy City First Friday Market & Music with 80s Mix Tape, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Fri., Oct. 9 Dreams Unwind No Friday show listed; DJ Dance Party and Tai Chi on Sat., Oct. 10
Fri., Oct. 16 The Maylee Thomas Band Just Like Pink

The two venues run on different terms. District 121's First Friday is free and pairs the band with a lineup of local vendors selling handmade goods, so it works as a shopping night too. The Hub 121 calendar carries a house rule at the top: "No Coolers," with Hub 121 restaurant food and drinks only. Leave the picnic at home for the Hub shows and plan on buying dinner from the tenants around the lawn.

The next First Friday at District 121 is Nov. 6. District 121's own page lists a 7:30 p.m. start for the October show, but a third-party event listing for the fall series shows 6:30 p.m. Check the District 121 page before you head out for the November show.

Who Feeds the Hub 121 Lawn

Because of the no-coolers rule, the tenant list matters on concert nights. The current Hub 121 directory includes:

  • Page 3 Eatery, 7560 SH 121, Ste. 100, which Community Impact reported opened in October 2025 with Indian cuisine and mocktails
  • The Elwood, 7550 SH 121, Suite 250
  • Wine A Little, a wine bar at 7560 SH 121, Suite 150
  • ChopSports Sports Garage, on the 7560 SH 121 access road
  • Escape 360 Cafe, 7540 SH 121, Ste. 100
  • En Fuego, a cigar shop and lounge at 7550 S. State Highway 121, Ste. 400
  • Starbucks, 7530 SH 121, which Community Impact covered as it opened earlier in 2026
  • FS8, a yoga and Pilates studio at 7560 SH 121, Ste. 300

FS8 is the newest. It opened July 11 after an earlier target of late June, according to Community Impact. Several tenants on this list are wine bars, lounges and sports venues, which do most of their business after work. That fits with a lawn that hosts a concert every Friday in October.

The Big Saturday: Oct. 24

The 10th annual McKinney Wine & Music Festival comes to District 121 on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 6 p.m. Organizers promise more than 100 wines, live music, food and local vendors. Credit Union of Texas sponsors the stage. Unlike First Friday, this event is ticketed. Tickets are sold through the festival's website.

District 121 also has smaller events throughout October. Stroller Strides sessions start Oct. 1, a Life Time workout is set for Oct. 3, and a DJ Dance Party and Tai Chi are on the calendar for Oct. 10.

Life Time Craig Ranch's Calendar

Life Time at Craig Ranch has its own fall lineup. Several of its events are for members, so check access before you plan around them:

  • Thu., Oct. 15: "Unite the Night" workout. It's included with membership, and the listing tells nonmember guests to ask the concierge.
  • Thu., Oct. 22: Family Trunk or Treat.
  • Sun., Oct. 25: Fall Yoga Festival, a paid event.
  • Sat., Nov. 14: Motherhood and Mugs.

November: A Dinner Room Five Floors Up

The biggest change on the corridor this fall is at 7600 SH 121. AC Hotel McKinney is a five-story, 137-room Marriott hotel with eight suites, managed by Atlanta-based Peachtree Hospitality Group. Rooms can be booked for stays starting Nov. 15. The opening date has already moved once. Coverage in June pointed to mid-October, and the Sept. 10 update from Community Impact now says mid-November.

For neighbors, the piece to watch is Good & Proper Wood-Fired Bistro on the fifth floor. It's set to open with the hotel and will serve American food with "Texas influences." Local Profile reported that the restaurant has its own entrance so local diners can go straight up without walking through the hotel lobby. Marriott's pre-opening dining page lists these hours:

Days Hours
Monday to Thursday 4:30 to 10 p.m.
Friday and Saturday 4:30 to 11 p.m.
Sunday 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The restaurant opens every day at 4:30 p.m. and doesn't serve lunch. Combined with its own entrance, that tells you who it's for. The hotel will also have AC Kitchen for European-inspired breakfast, AC Lounge for cocktails and tapas-style small plates, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and nearly 3,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Hours on a pre-opening page can change before launch, so confirm them on Marriott's dining page before you book a table.

More People During the Day, Too

The evening calendar is filling up as more people come to the area for work. McKinney-based IT company Netrio is relocating its headquarters from 116 N. Tennessee St. downtown to the McKinney Corporate Center 1 building in Craig Ranch. It's moving 100 employees there, with the move set for September 2026.

A few nearby openings from September are worth knowing about:

  1. Potbelly, 3200 S. Stonebridge Drive, Ste. 108, opened Sept. 4. Barry and Remington Burke, a father-and-son franchise team, own it and plan to open 15 shops across North and East Texas.
  2. Valhallan Esports Training, 6541 Collin McKinney Parkway, Ste. 104, opened Sept. 5. It offers structured coaching programs for young gamers focused on teamwork and communication.
  3. Joda Coffee, 5975 Ridgeline Drive, Suite 100, is still on the way. Owner Sam Alaqel plans to serve Yemeni coffee drinks and refreshers. June coverage pointed to an August opening, but the shop's website still reads "Opening Fall 2026," and its hours are listed as coming soon. A state accessibility filing for the project lists an estimated completion date of Nov. 2, 2026. That's a construction estimate, not an announced opening date.
